I am a Provost’s Chair in the Department of Economics at the National University of Singapore.

I am also a fellow at the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (SG), a research associate at the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (UK), and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (EU).

My research interests lie in the fields of economic history and international economics.
